Ontario is coming to Evenna: 15 regions, opening progressively
"After Québec, Evenna opens Ontario: 15 official tourism regions, a province selector at signup, and regions opening progressively across the province."

En bref
Evenna adds Ontario to Québec. Vendors pick their province, then their regions from Ontario's 15 official tourism regions. Territories open progressively, one at a time, once they have enough vendors to make a search worth running.
Evenna now welcomes a second province. After Québec, Ontario joins the platform with its 15 official tourism regions, and a progressive rollout designed to keep every vendor visible in the right place, at the right time.
Whether you are planning a wedding in Niagara, a gala in downtown Toronto or a family celebration on a lake in Muskoka, the goal is the same: finding vendors who genuinely know your corner of the province.
Why split Ontario into regions
Ontario is far too large to treat as a single market. A caterer in Ottawa does not travel to Windsor the way a caterer in Niagara does, and a photographer in Sudbury does not work the same season as a photographer in the Greater Toronto Area.
By building on the province's 15 official tourism regions, the RTOs (Regional Tourism Organizations), we give each vendor a clear territory and each planner a search that makes sense. This is the same map Ontario's tourism industry already uses: venues understand it, vendors understand it, and so do the people planning an event far from home.

A progressive opening, region by region
We are not opening Ontario all at once. Regions that are already open can be selected right away, both at signup and in your profile. The others appear greyed out and marked “Coming soon”, so you know they exist and that they are on the way.
Why the caution? Because an empty region helps nobody. A region opens once it has enough vendors for a search to return a real result: a wedding inquiry in Kingston should find a caterer, a photographer and a venue, not an empty page. Territories therefore open in the order where supply meets demand.
In practice: you can complete your profile and choose your province today. When your region opens it becomes selectable in your profile; add it, and your listing appears in that territory's searches.
What actually changes for vendors
1. Province first, region second. At signup and in your profile, you choose your province, Québec or Ontario, then one or more regions. The selector only shows regions from the chosen province, which prevents mistakes and duplicates.
2. One profile, several territories. A photographer covering both Niagara and Hamilton, or a venue sitting on the border of two regions, can appear in several regions at once. You do not create a second listing.
3. Local visibility. The public directory, region pages and filters all work by region. Someone looking for a florist in Southeastern Ontario does not get florists from Thunder Bay.
4. Better targeted advertising. Spotlight placements and ad campaigns are chosen by region. Your budget stays concentrated on the territories where you actually work.
5. Limited spots per region and category. The number of promoted vendors stays capped per region and per category, so visibility keeps its value and everyone does not end up in the same place.
What does not change
- Vendor pricing and plans stay exactly the same.
- Québec is untouched: your regions, your analytics and your current access stay as they are.
- Nothing is required from vendors already listed in Québec.
For planners: closer, and more relevant
On the client side, adding Ontario changes how you search. You pick the region of your event, and the directory only shows vendors who serve that territory. For an October wedding in Prince Edward County, that means professionals who know the venues, the roads and the season, rather than a list ranked by distance as the crow flies.
How to be ready when your region opens
- Complete your profile: name, category, description, website, contact details.
- Add your photos: they are what makes the difference in the directory.
- Keep your availability current: a vendor with an up-to-date calendar receives more qualified requests.
- Check your category: it determines which searches you appear in.
- Choose your province and regions: this is the only new step, and it takes less than a minute.
In short
Ontario is coming, and it is arriving properly: official regions, a progressive rollout, and vendors who know exactly where they are visible. Québec stays as it is. And for planners, a search that is finally local, right across the province.
If your region is still marked “Coming soon”, there is nothing more to do: complete your profile now and it will be ready on opening day.
